She’s a “make-things happen” kind of girl, with a keen knack for effectively coaching and providing strategic vision that helps bring ideas to fruition.

It is no exaggeration that people love engaging Chequita when she speaks. Her captivating personality and practical strategies stir audiences to awaken their God-given potential, rise to personal greatness, and become who they’ve always imagined. She uses wit and wisdom to connect to the heart of her audiences as she draws from her extensive experience as a teacher and a well-seasoned speaker.

Chequita is extremely passionate about empowering women of all ages, so she often lends her talents to educate and equip women with the tools to maximize their full potential. Most recently, she launched EMERGE, a web-based resource where women from all walks of life can relate, connect, and most importantly, find solutions to everyday challenges. “EMERGE is a community for women by women,” Chequita says. “It’s where we are energized and mobilized with both natural and spiritual tools that will propel us beyond the limitations we’ve gathered throughout our lives and help us become the women we were meant to be.” Chequita has also worked with various organizations such as the NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), a youth educational enrichment program, and she has hosted spiritual enrichment classes for female inmates at McLean County Correctional Facility.

Though gifted in many areas, Chequita’s unwavering faith in God compels her to minister an uncompromising gospel that comforts, empowers, and liberates those who are emotionally, spiritually, and mentally bound. Chequita is a licensed minister and she currently serves on the leadership team at Center for Hope Ministries in Bloomington, IL under senior pastor Bishop Larry Taylor. Through various evangelistic outreaches and global leadership development programs, God has expanded Chequita’s speaking platform beyond national borders into international territories like South Africa and the Dominican Republic.

In 2010, Chequita launched Brownstone Publications, a company that works closely with professionals and educators to help them publish quality books in their areas of expertise. Her unique skill set has afforded her the opportunity to serve as a writer and editor for ESV Urban Devotional Bible (published by Crossway). She has also ghostwritten several books and has written a host of articles for various publications. Most recently, Chequita penned her first inspirational book entitled, Say So! Speak it Today, Live it Tomorrow.
