Do You Know Him?

Many people claim to know God, but very few have a personal relationship with Him. Having an intimate relationship with God requires that you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. There is no other way. Insert a scripture here

So the question is: If you were to die today, do you know where you would spend eternity? If the answer is “Yes”, that is awesome! However, if your answer is “No”, today is the day to make a heartfelt commitment to God. Take a moment to read Romans 10:9-10 and pray the Prayer of Salvation noted below. Romans 10:9-10 NLT says,

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I recognize that I need you in my life. Thank you for accepting me just as I am. I ask that you come into my heart. Forgive me of my sins. I receive you as my Savior and I make you the Lord of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.

Congratulations on a fresh start with God!

If you just said this prayer for the first time or if you have recommitted your heart to the Lord, we would like to welcome you into a relationship with Jesus Christ. The most important decision you will ever make is to accept Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. This marks a newness in your life, and we, at Emerge Women are excited about your new beginning.

Tips for establishing a closer relationship with Christ
Everything you need to know about Christian living is in the Bible. In an effort to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ, we encourage you to study God’s Word daily. There are other exercises that will help strengthen your faith and your relationship with God, too.

  • Read/Study Your Bible

Reading the Bible will inform you of God’s will for your life. The Word of God provides direction, hope, and peace when you are faced with challenges. It will strengthen your faith, build your confidence, and transform your life.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

  • Prayer/Pray

Prayer is vital in our relationship with God. It’s how we communicate with Him and express our dependency on His guidance in our life. Therefore, we are encouraged to seek God daily through prayer, as this will ultimately help strengthen our faith.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV: Prayer is how we communicate with God. The Bible instructs us to “pray without ceasing.”

  • Fasting

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that teaches us to deny ourselves by abstaining from food or an activity with the goal of strengthening our faith. You may fast from food, TV, candy and sweets, video games, or any other device as a way to focus on your spiritual growth. Whenever you commit to period of fasting — whether it is one meal, a 12-hour period, or three days — be sure to combine fasting with prayer. You will experience powerful results when these actions are combined.

Ezra 8:21-23 NIV: There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaim a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possession.  So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayers.

  • Attend Church Regularly

Regular church attendance is important. It’s a great way to worship God with other believers and to learn how to apply God’s Word to your life. When you are connected with a local church, you can engage in supportive relationships and receive encouragement and inspiration to mature in faith.

Hebrews 10:25 NIV: Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching.

If you have committed your heart to Christ or you have strengthened your faith as a result of this website, please share your story with us. We would love to hear how God is working in your life.
